Point:
Steel Strip is a type of long rolled product of rectangular cross-section with sharp or rounded corners, manufactured by hot or cold rolling. Widely used in various industries and construction due to its versatility and practicality.
Production Technology

The manufacturing process includes several methods:
1.    Hot Rolling: Heating a steel billet to 1100-1200°C with subsequent rolling through a system of rolls.
2.    Cutting: Dividing wide strip into strips of required width.
3.    Straightening: Eliminating deformations and bends on straightening machines.
4.    Cooling: Natural or controlled cooling.
5.    Cutting to Measured Lengths: Cutting finished product.
6.    Quality Control: Checking geometric parameters and surface quality.

Characteristics and Assortment
•    Strip Width: from 10 to 200 mm.
•    Thickness: from 4 to 60 mm.
•    Length: 3-12 meters (measured, multiple, non-measured).
•    Steel Grades: St3sp, St0, 09G2S, 45, 40Kh and others.
•    Accuracy Classes: increased (A) and ordinary (B).
•    Curvature: not more than 0.5% of the length.

Advantages
•    High Strength and bending rigidity.
•    Versatile Application in various structures.
•    Easy Processing – easily cut, welded, bent.
•    Affordable Cost compared to other types of rolled products.
•    Wide Assortment of sizes and steel grades.
•    Good Weldability of most steel grades.

Areas of Application
•    Construction: elements of metal structures, support beams.
•    Mechanical Engineering: guides, brackets, stiffeners.
•    Automotive Industry: frame elements, mounts.
•    Fastener Production: nuts, washers, brackets.
•    Decorative Purposes: fencing elements, railings.
•    Agriculture: agricultural machinery parts.

Normative Documentation (GOST Standards)
Main standards regulating the production of steel strip:
GOST 103-2006 – "Hot-rolled steel strip. Assortment"
•    Defines the assortment of hot-rolled strip.
•    Establishes limit deviations for dimensions.
•    Regulates requirements for mass and curvature.
GOST 535-2005 – "Rolled steel products, long and shaped, made of ordinary quality carbon steel. General technical specifications"
•    Establishes general technical requirements.
•    Defines mechanical properties and test methods.
•    Regulates steel grades and chemical composition.
Additional Normative Documents:
•    GOST 380-2005 – Ordinary quality carbon steel.
•    GOST 14637-89 – Ordinary quality carbon steel thick plate.
•    GOST 27772-88 – Steels for building metal structures.
Quality Requirements:
•    Surface: without cracks, laps, seams.
•    Edges: straight or with permissible rounding.
•    Geometry: adherence to straightness and flatness.
•    Mechanical Properties: compliance with standard requirements.
